White Light/White Heat, 1975. 1st | B | During the performance White Light/White Heat, Chris Burden lay hidden on a pedestal in a gallery above eye level. He spent 22 days there without food. Although the visitors could not see him, many said they could feel his presence. Burden reported that he had heard a visitor say: "He can hear us, and he doesn't answer, but he can't help listening...it's like God." | |
