NO!art Exhibitions, Posters and Invitation Cards. 1961, 1963, 1995, 1997, 2003. 2nd | A | The movement was initiated by Boris Lurie, Sam Goodman and Stanley Fisheraimed against the art manipulation by the art worldmarket investment dealers, in radical opposition to the – from their perspective – apolitical contemporary mainstream trends like Pop Art. Since 1999 the NO!art Movement is organized by Dietmar Kirves (Headquarters Berlin) and Clayton Patterson (Headquarters New York). "Welcome to the comfort zone of an art show – A display of objects and gestures declared art – The artwork between being and not being, beween the idea and its materialization – Turning our attention to the flickering in-between of the full potential and the unanswered question – A hidden movement or sound – A placeholder – An abundant presence of absence – The show in a state of haunting limbo – Maybe all disappointment – Reluctance materialized – The artwork looking away and startling – A room full of untouched toys and games – Choking the algorithm of artistic display – Positioning, form, duration and magnitude, all terrorized – Let’s not do nothing, but carefully consider what we are doing […]" (NO!show, Invitation Card 08/2015) | |
