Festival Escape del Gas, 2016.

In 1969, Robert Barry made the so-called Inert Gas Series, a release of five measured volumes of odorless, colorless, noble gasses into the atmosphere in various locations, where they would diffuse and expand naturally into infinity.  As an hommage to Barry’s work, the "Festival Escape del Gas“ (Insert Gas Festival) was executed during the group exhibition "Rompeflasche" at the Centro De Arte Contemporaneo in Quito. The Festival took place from September till end of November 2016 inside the entire museum and was performed by the visitors:  "To become a part of the Festival you are cordially invited to fart into the museum."
