From 2005 until his notice to quit the artworld in 2015, Denis Handschin has been an artist. Since then he works as an assistant for an artist, for whom he is doing everything – from the idea to the implementation. This artist does not know yet that he is an artist, but he is a real person. Allegedly, his first works have been shown at LISTE Basle.

Exhibited works

Antropia, 2010. 2nd \| A		A fictitious project: A man in an isolated room is being filmed by a thermal camera. Heaters heat up the air to a degree that the surrounding has exactely the same temperature as the man (skin / body surface area). The audience sees only a projection of 3 x 1.8 m. Performance / Video Stills, 15 min.

Demo, 2010. 2nd \| A		A public space performance, that has been documented, but never implemented. Handschin has manipulated a photo from the Internet and declared it as his own performance.

U. 2011 2nd \| A		Exhibition which will take place everywhere from 20 until 21 june 2020.

NoShow, 2014. 2nd \| A		NoShow declares all existing empty spaces as art. "Empty" means in this context that the space must be enclosed and may not contain any furniture or any other large objects.

Readyhere, 2014. 2nd \| A		A Readyhere is a found work of art created by the nature and defined by artists. The first Readyhere was conceived during the preparations for an exhibition in Glarus: Handschin interpreted a mountain range (Rautispitz) as a already existing artwork and indicated it by tracing its silhouettes with a felt-tip pen on the gallery window.

Nichts (Nothing), 2014 2nd \| A		Denis Handschin showed "Nothing" in a group exhibition in the Fabrikculture Hegenheim. (Exhibition Review)

Letter of Cancellation, 2015		29. April 2015 To the Artworld Letter of Cancellation Dear Artworld I write to inform you that I wish to terminate me as an artist at earliest opportunity.
